All of my releases have some link with fish — in the title, in the cover, or hidden somewhere in the layout.

Do I have a special bond with fish? One that goes further than simply loving seafood and being a scuba diver?

Yes.

My debut as a leader was the CD Puasong Daffriek  (Poison d’Afrique). Both the title and the design already featured fish. That was the beginning of this love affair.

The multimedia project A Dutch View On Fish went furthest in this quest so far, documented on the CD Bite!

In 2026 I launched a record label called Sonic Squid Music. A squid is not a fish of course, but the name actually comes from a Japanese anime. It keeps the connection with the ocean alive.

Sadly we are destroying our oceans and fish populations at an alarming rate.
