A Dutch View On Fish is a multimedia performance that merges live video with live music—the Lotz Of Music ensemble in collaboration with VJ Soundshadow.
This project takes audiences on an adventurous and surprising journey into the world beneath the sea. Each piece is inspired by the mysteries of underwater. The instrumentation is unconventional, the music serene yet playful, and the performance exudes an infectious joy of improvisation. It’s an electrifying jazz experience with live visuals.
How It Came Together
Several renowned Dutch composers contributed original works to A Dutch View On Fish, each offering their own interpretation of aquatic life through music. The composers include:

The project is documented on our CD Bite!, an album originally dedicated to deep-sea explorer Jacques Piccard. Following its release, it also became a tribute to our dear friend and cellist Lysander Le Coultre, who passed away on January 29, 2009, in Amsterdam, shortly after the album’s release.
