What Makes Me Tik?
I am driven by the energy of the moment — surrendering fully to artistic expression, reaching for something beyond the ordinary.
In music I love to avoid the obvious — to do things differently. It is the unexpected that opens new space.
I don’t make music that demands attention; it invites it.
“In the end, music is a way of listening more closely — to the world, to others, and to what emerges in the moment.”
We do not exist in isolation; our meaning is found in connection, collaboration, and shared experience. As an artist I respond to cultural and social realities — bear witness to them and engage with them.
Other roles — such as advising government institutions (Fonds Podiumkunsten), curating concertseries and festivals, as teacher, and serving on the governing board of the musicians’ union BIMpro— reflect my belief that being an artist means being engaged and serve the community through the arts.
